About Hemisphere

Philosophy

The design philosophy of Hemisphere is balance.

There is a theory that the human brain holds separate functions in different halves or hemispheres . The right brain is more artistic, and the left brain is more analytical. This idea could be extended to the design process and its stakeholders, whether they are owners, family, developers, contractors, or engineers.  While it is not sufficient for each department to be equally represented, it is paramount that they work together.  Design requires portions of each that are mediated by the craft of the architect.

Hemisphere is about dreaming big and taking risks, while meeting or exceeding project objectives.  It’s about exploring unconventional ideas, while monitoring the pulse of cost, schedule, and logistics.  The design process is iterative, adaptive, and welcoming of new challenges.  A successful project is the result of an in-depth design process that satisfies the concerns of all stakeholders with an outcome that is predictable.

When voices are heard, ideas are integrated, and project goals are met, balance is achieved.
